How Am I Driving Program Rollout

Rebel Rents has today launched our new "How Am I Driving?" program in our continuing effort to make Rebel the best company we can be. The toll-free number allows other drivers to call with concerns, suggestions or compliments.

This program will help us control our fleet by providing the following benefits:

-Reinforces safe driving habits
-Promotes to the general public Rebel's commitment to safety
-Alerts us to any unsafe conditions that may otherwise go unnoticed
-Recognizes safe drivers

Blue Book General Contractor Showcase

On Tuesday evening our Santa Ana Territory Managers, Peggy Megrdichian, Tony Cunningham and Rick Knepper, went to the Blue Book General Contractors 2006 Showcase. The event was held at the Pacific Palms Resort in Industry Hills and was a terrific opportunity to speak to many of southern California's premier General Contractors. It was nice to be able to meet with some of our Rebel customers away from the jobsite. According to Peggy, all who attended found the showcase to be very beneficial and enjoyed themselves.

Service School: Shark Pressure Washers

Today Mike Difabio, Western Regional Sales Manager for Shark Pressure Washers, and Dr. Marlo L. Dean, Vice President of Quality and Technical Support for C-Tech Industries, put on a service training class at Rebel Rents. The class focused on the Shark Pressure Washer. This hands on training course included a complete break down on a pressure washer pump assembly along with preventive maintance steps. Along with this classroom training was a Powerpoint presentation and a question and answer period. This training session rated right up there with our most technical sessions. Our service technicians found the class very informative and a great opportunity to increase their extensive knowledge. Thanks to all who attended! This is also a great time to welcome aboard two team members to our service department, Ted Woodmas and Ron Tipton.

Spring Break is here and so are our new breakers! We have just added new Sullair Pneumatic Air Breakers to our fleet. The Sullair MPB-60A and MPB-90A are ergonomically designed for efficiency and greater operator comfort. A unique silencer reduces noise levels and the flex handle reduces up to 60% of the vibration without any loss in power.

At the same time we have updated our Bosch Electric Breaker and Chipping hammer fleet. All come equipped with Constant Response Circuitry, which provides a soft start, maintains a constant speed and provides overload protection.

We pride ourselves on being able to offer our customers the newest and most innovative equipment on the market. Call Rebel to Rent the Best!

Success by Association

The American Rental Association (ARA) has nominated one of our own, Doug Fleury, to be nominated to serve on the ARA Board of Directors for Region Nine. The nominees will be narrowed down to two candidates who will run for election in the fall. Win or lose, it is an honor just to be recognized by our peers. We believe that our Rebel Rental Team, along with being identified as a progressive and innovative rental company in Southern California, had a lot to do with this nomination.

Santee on the Upswing

Early this year we set out to develop a store improvement program for our Santee location.
The program consisted of exterior and interior renovation to improve our curb appeal, expansion of our inside and outside sales force to better serve our customers, and achievement of a better equipment balance to meet the market demands for that store. At the same time we planned a Customer Appreciation Day to show off our newly remodeled facility and additional equipment we now have to rent out of this location. We want to thank some of our team members Mike Brown, Team Leader for the El Cajon and Santee location, and the entire staff at the Santee location, for all their oustanding work and dedication to this task. We also had some behind the scenes work done by some of our office support staff who worked very hard to make this transition happen. The proofs in the pudding that our hard work has paid off. Our Santee location has shown a great improvement in market shares and revenue. With the way the store is trending, it can only get better.

In Control

We have reached the end of our controllable expenses contest for February and March. Rebel is pleased to announce that North Temecula Team was the winner! They were the best of the best in controlling their expenses for this time period with a substantial overall decrease. For the teams hard work and dedication, each member will receive a gift card to a local restaurant in our appreciation and, of course, a plaque to display for all to see their accomplishment. Honorable mentions are in order for Escondido and Encinitas, who came in a respectable second and third. Go Team!

Jim Goes to Vegas

Jim Rufing, Territory Manager for Temecula and winner of a recent sales contest, cashed in his prize for a weekend getaway. Jim and his wife spent the holiday weekend in Las Vegas, where they opted to stay at a resort away from the strip where they could relax and still be within walking distance of all the action Las Vegas offers. Jim said that he and his wife had a great time and they enjoyed a fantastic dinner on Rebel Rents.

Time Table

One of Rebel's first quarter goals this year was to develop a combined employee scheduling management tool and payroll submittal form. We can now say that this has been accomplished and rolled out to the field. Using this new form will assist the branches in utilizing our employees and resources in the most efficient manner possible in order to best serve our customers. All times are now automatically calculated by the form, eliminating any chance of human error and saving our Team Leaders valuable time. It also compares scheduled and actual work times. Thank you to Jill Widtfeldt and the Marketing Department for heading this task and seeing it through to the end.
