Getting in the Spirit

It's business as usual on Halloween day at Rebel. However, it didn't stop Charles Dawes, Assistant Manager from our San Jacinto branch, from showing a little Halloween spirit dressed in costume as a cowboy, with his sidekick, Rebel's own mascot, Digger.

Yee haw! Ride 'em, cowboy!
Have a fun and safe Halloween!

REBEL PRIDE

How far do we go to challenge ourselves to be better than the rest? I'd say we go pretty darn far! We've recently just announce the REBEL PRIDE which consists of difficult challenges that will undoubtfully be met with much enthusiasm throughout the company.

Coined by our very own, Brett Guigneaux, it is a program in which team members take control of how Rebel projects its image to the public: customers and competitors alike. That's right! We are a group of dedicated individuals that thrive on excellence. As a team, we will make Rebel shine!!!

We are proud to be part of the REBEL TEAM!

Dedicated Team

This has been a very difficult week for Southern California. The wildfires consumed many structures and thousands upon thousands of acres of land. Thankfully, Rebel stores in the San Diego County remained unscathed. Both Escondido and Encinitas were open briefly during the week to meet their obligations to customers, but closed almost immediately as the whole county succumbed to the thick smoke that permeated the air. El Cajon, however, has been operating as normal throughout the week, as the rest of our stores in Riverside and Orange Counties.

We are most thankful that all Rebel team members and their families are safe, and that none suffered any loss to this horrible calamity. We tip our hats off to all of you who diligently showed up to work daily inspite of the chaos and near panic that has stricken many people. Such dedication is greatly appreciated.

As we all move forward from this tragedy, our hopes and thoughts go out to our communities that have been affected.

Bright Ideas

We've implemented the first few of the suggested ideas stemming from the Cost Savings Program company-wide. As part of the program, those whose ideas were adopted were awarded with gift cards. This has been a great start to this program.

Congratulations to Doug Fleury (Corporate), Robert Levesque (So. Temecula), Harry Coffman (San Jacinto), Mayette Geller (Corporate), Debbie Sanchez (Corporate), and Jim Hamilton (Temecula stores) and thanks for speaking out and sharing your brilliant ideas with the team.

We look forward to your participation as this program continues. There are many of you brimming with great ideas. Step up and be heard!

Customary Display of Appreciation

Exciting news keep on heading our way! Between Halloween and the Thanksgiving Holidays, we're squeezing in our own brand of celebration; the one that has become a much anticipated event for our customers: Rebel Rents' Customer Appreciation Day!

This upcoming event will be held at our newly renovated El Cajon Branch. On November 14, between the hours of 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, we'll be mingling with many of our valuable customers and vendors alike. We're inviting the local businesses to come and join in the festivities of the day, enjoy good food and take the rare opportunity to connect with the vendor representatives who will be participating in the event. It is also our first, and best chance to show off the new look of the El Cajon store. We know you'll be impressed!

We take great pride in caring about our customers. Having Customer Appreciation Days in our individual stores have proven to be a successful avenue of exhibiting our appreciation to their continued support throughout the years.

Don't miss out on this event at El Cajon! This is for you.

Educate to Operate

As we continue to move forward, it is Rebel's intentions to continue empowering our team members throughout the company by providing valuable schooling on various equipment. Early this week, we conducted a training session at the No. Temecula branch on our Chippers. A team member from each of the other branches attended to benefit from this free training, alongside Temecula's Team Leader, Jim Hamilton.
Vermeer's Gabe Jarvis presided over the training, assisted by our own Service Manager, John Benson. They went over important operational aspects of the equipment, as well as care and maintenance.

The training took only a couple of hours. The attendees were served donuts and coffee for breakfast in the beginning and received their Certificate of Completion at the end. Not a bad deal; fill the stomach and fill the brain. Rebel's got you covered.

A Rock Splitting Experience

Giving good customer service and equipment knowledge support has been one of Rebel's strengths. We believe that, while all rental companies may offer similar products to their customers, what really sets us apart and keeps our customers coming back is the fact that we go that extra mile to ensure that our customers get all the support they need on the equipment they rent to get their job done properly and safely.

Just last week, Robert Malsack and John Benson, Escondido's Territory Sales Manager and Service Manager, respectively, offered up their full support to Caltrans. The job was to breakdown big rocks on the side of the road that are sticking out too far, creating potential hazard to the motorists. Both Robert and John were on the jobsite, located Eastbound on HWY 78 near the Wild Animal Park. Spending nearly four hours there, they helped supervise Caltrans workers with the use of the rock splitter they rented from Rebel Rents, making sure they are using it correctly to avoid any potential risk arising from improper handling.

On site were Paul Von Normann, Caltrans Area Supervisor, and Mike Moeck, Maintenance Supervisor, both from the City of Escondido. Tom, the Geologist, was also present as is required for jobs involving still untouched soil. At the end of the day, everyone was satisfied with a job well done.

We look forward to doing more jobs with Caltrans in the future.

A Smart Move

After months of renovation work at the El Cajon branch, it is finally finished. In renovating El Cajon, it gained over 30% more yard space and a sizeable increase in building space, as well. This enables Rebel Rents to centralize our services in the El Cajon location, moving our Santee operations and consolidating them into one.
By merging the two locations, service will be more efficient as we become better able to respond to our customers' needs faster. The availability of tools and equipment will be assured, and delivery time will be more expedient.

As always, it is our goal to service our customers above and beyond what is expected. At our newly renovated and recently expanded El Cajon location, you will get the equipment you need when you need it, serviced by the knowledgeable team members you have come to know and rely upon.

Camcorder: In Popular Demand

It seems everyone is gearing up for the holidays and preparing to capture many memorable moments. Tony Cunningham, Territory Manager from Santa Ana, recently followed Rick Knepper's lead, turning in his Rebel Rewards Zone points for the Canon ZR850. This MiniDV Camcorder has a 2.7" widescreen LCD, 35x optical zoom, digital still capability as well as media sharing capability.

With all the upcoming events and celebrations, there will be no shortage for video taking opportunities. There may even be some you'll be tempted to send to America's Funniest Home Videos.

Have a great time with your new toy, and congratulations to a well-earned reward.
