Continuing Education
John Benson, the Corporate Service Manager, completed the second session of training for one of Rebel's loyal customers, SDA Securities. Wednesday's training was held in El Cajon, and surpassed the number of attendance from the initial session. This is a welcome bit of news, as this means that the company and its employees see value in conducting these training sessions. As is the norm, everyone who attended received a certificate of completion in recognition to their participation to the training program.
There will be one final session scheduled for next week, again in El Cajon. Joe Negrette has been very supportive of this customer; it makes clear sense why they have pledged so much loyalty to Rebel. Likewise, Mike Brown and John Benson have eagerly accommodated and endorsed Joe's directives.
Rebel thanks you for your steadfastness in our quest to provide the best support to our customers. Teamwork is what makes our jobs easier and makes Rebel's customer service the one to beat.
Training to Demonstrate
Rebel has always believed in maintaining and strengthening bonds with everyone it does business with, vendors and customers alike. Providing training on product and equipment operation and safety is one of the most effective ways in which we can demonstrate to our customers our dedication to their success. This is something that Rebel has willingly done for customers throughout the years, and will continue to do so. This practice has become sort of a standard for Rebel.

Joe Negrette, our Territory Sales Manager from El Cajon, is keen on not disappointing his customers. He has arranged a series of three training sessions for one of his most loyal customers, SDA Security Services. SDA covers both Riverside and San Diego counties. Yesterday, they conducted the first session in Mira Loma. Scott Miller, Team Leader of Mira Loma, coordinated the training at his location, providing morning sustenance of coffee and donuts. Mike Holmes, the branch's Service Manager, conducted the training supported by John Benson, the Corporate Service Manager.
Two more sessions are scheduled within the next two weeks and will be happening at the El Cajon branch.
We thank Joe Negrette, Scott Miller, Mike Holmes, and John Benson for their cooperative efforts in making sure our commitment to our customers are met. Rebel Rents' customer satisfaction is our number one priority!
Excellent job!
Never Too Late To Appreciate
Mike Brown, our Team Leader from El Cajon and the former Santee location, recently received a letter of appreciation from the San Diego Sheriff's Department expressing their appreciation for his contribution during the wildfires of 2007.
Mike allowed them to use the then vacant Santee lot as their main headquarters for dispatch during the disaster, bringing in a light tower for use in the evening hours as needed. As we all remember, those were trying times for everyone that was affected by the fires as well as all the city departments responsible for keeping residents safe and out of harms way.
Thank you, Mike, for your generosity. It just goes to show that Rebel is full of caring people, willing to do what it takes to help the community it serves.
Rental Industry Travels to Washington
Recently, a group of more than 80 American Rental Association (ARA) members from 32 states participated in the association's annual National Legislative Caucus in Washington, DC. Doug Fleury from Rebel's corporate office was part of the California committee representing the political concerns of the rental industry to their U.S. Senators and Representatives.
The focus of this year's ARA Legislative agenda includes affordable, small business health care insurance, estate taxes and the H-2B visa program. John McClelland, ARA's Vice President for government affairs, complimented this year's attendees for being very well prepared for their meetings; doing their homework on the issues being raised at this caucus.
Doug's schedule was a hectic one, to be sure. He met with eight Congressman/Congresswoman and/or their Legislative Assistants or Directors on Capitol Hill during the three days of caucus. However busy, leave it to Doug to still manage to visit many of the nation's capital's historic sites.
Once again, Rebel is proud to have Doug Fleury representing Rebel's and many other rental companies' concerns at the big house. Let us be heard!!
KUDOS to JOHN BENSON
These days, many would claim that the time of great customer service is obsolete. Apparently, they have not experienced service a la Rebel Rents, a company that continues to strive to go above and beyond customers' expectation.
One such customer had the pleasure of being treated to top notch customer service by our corporate's Service Manager, John Benson. The scenario was by no means ordinary. They were constructing a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Marine Terminal in Mexico. Prior to the arrival of the first LNG tanker, however, they discovered rock outcroppings on the ocean floor near the loading platform that required removal. Rebel was contacted regarding hydraulic splitters and facilitated the sale of the equipment for shipment to Mexico. Once the equipment arrived at the jobsite, the customer who hadn't operated such equipment before, was reluctant using them without training or tech support.
John, without prompting, made the phone call to follow up and offered his expertise. He talked them through a shore side test, and provided support throughout the entire process. He gave them the confidence and the much needed assistance to use the equipment underwater. He made it possible for the customer to take care of the problem before the tanker arrived.
In their appreciation for John's support and continued follow up, the customer sent a commendation letter for John addressed to Rebel's CEO and CFO. The letter states what an asset he is to our organization.
John, we all agree!!! You epitomize customer care at its best!!!
Great customer service isn't obsolete. It is alive and going strong here at Rebel Rents!!
ARA Shared Interest Group Meeting 2008
Doug Fleury, the man with many hats, just got back from Moline, Il after attending this year's Construction and Industrial Services Shared Interest Group (SIG). Once a year, the American Rental Association (ARA) gathers a number of its members from different regions throughout the nation. They get together to advise the ARA on matters relevant to this segment of the rental industry.
The meeting was held at ARA's domain within the John Deere community on April 9 & 10. The discussion included topics of education, training, safety initiatives, member recruitment/retention, and consumer advertising and marketing. They also touched on the activity in state, local and provincial association initiatives that affect the industry.
Since Rebel is an avid advocate of safety, and has been actively creating awareness to the community it serves, Doug had plenty to share. Our OSHA booklets were a big hit with the other members of this committee, and many asked for a copy to share and even incorporate with their companies' programs.
On the marketing aspects of the business, Doug also shared our grassroots approach of late; specifically our most recent campaign involving the Real Estate professionals. The members were equally impressed and many showed interest in doing something similar.
It was a hectic, but productive trip for Doug. Rebel is proud to be a contributing member of the ARA.
REBEL RENTS PRESENTS OSHA QUICKCARD
Rebel incessantly aims to promote and provide safety awareness, with the latest efforts focusing on safety concerns OSHA advocates. This brings about our latest roll out: REBEL RENTS PRESENTS OSHA QUICKCARD.
The OSHA Quickcards are reference cards that are quick and easy to carry around. Their goal is to provide easy-to-understand explanations of individual Safety and Health topics, and which are perfect for employees to have at jobsite.
Rebel Rents went above and beyond the call of duty by integrating a total of 17 topics, putting them in a booklet. These are meant to be distributed to our existing and prospective customers alike. We want to be consistent with our message that we are not only here to provide our customers the best quality equipment possible, but we're also here to help minimize their risk factors by creating safety awareness on how to operate or handle such equipment.
At Rebel Rents, we really do care about everyone's well-being. If you haven't already tried us out, there's never a better time.
