2008 Wellness Incentive Program Re-Energized!
Last year, Jill Widtfeldt, Human Resources Manager for Rebel Rents, rolled out a Wellness Program that provides guidance and support to help team members eat better, lose weight, get in shape, relieve stress and much more! The program was attractive for its offer to lead participants in a healthier, more balanced life. For Rebel, however, they wanted to make sure to add that extra 'umph'! They incentivized the program with a raffle for the participants at the end of the year. Needless to say, it was a well-received program, and one that Rebel is very happy to continue.
Two weeks ago, Jill visited all the branches for Health & Welfare Open Enrollment and also rolled out the newly revamped 2008 Wellness Incentive Program. With a few minor changes to the incentives and qualifications, this program will surely attract more participants. The Quarterly Cash Bonus of $50 will be paid to all who provide proof of participation, rather than drawn from a raffle.
Here are ways to qualify for the incentive:
Complete 1 or more of the following and submit proof of completion each quarter to Human Resources:
• Complete a 15 minute on-line Health Risk Assessment;
• Complete on-line Healthy Living Programs;
• Complete a Smoking Cessation Program;
• Proof of Gym/Exercise program participation;
• Proof of purchase for Personal Training;
• Proof of weight loss program enrollment;
• Proof of flu shot (Rebel reimburses co-pay!!) ;
• Proof of Physical Exam (no personal information please!)**
**Rebel Rents will NOW reimburse our team members reimburse the $20.00 HMO co-pay for a physical exam AND pay for the time off to attend the doctor’s appointment! (Proof of physical exam required.)
QUARTERLY CA$H … Who can turn that down??? Watch for updates on who is qualifying for the COOL CASH!
Feel better, live healthy and get paid! That's life at Rebel!!
Educating Rebel
On February 19th, John Benson, Rebel's Service Manager, along with a few team members from various Rebel locations attended an Air Conditioning School; training on trouble-shooting and servicing procedures of heavy duty air contioners. The class was held at Peck's Heavy Friction's main location in El Cajon, and was put on by MEI Corporation.
The Rebel team members who took advantage of this training were: Dink Nash and Joe Vullo, both from the North Temecula branch; Marshall Kasa from Encinitas; Henry Wallace and Scott Von Veghel from Escondido; and Martin Anguiano, Mike Myers, and Manuel Cruz Hernandez from El Cajon.
Congratulations to all who attended. It is always advantageous to you and Rebel to pursue such trainings when they are made available. Excellent work!!
Bright Ideas
We are continuing our Cost Savings Program here at Rebel, and we are excited to announce our new group of winners: Paul Montanez from No. Temecula, Linda Benson from Corporate, Marshall Kasa and Ed Moreno, both from Encinitas.
The ideas are still flowing in. It is quite overwhelming to see the response we've gotten so far on this program. You continue to amaze us with your innovative thinking and wealth of knowledge and ideas.
Congratulations to our new contributors! It is great to be surrounded by people like you who can think outside the box. Great job!!!
A Success Story
Rebel has always been committed to providing unequalled service to our customers. Recently, one of our outstanding Territory Sales Managers received a highly complimentary email in response to her effort of establishing a good relationship with the company.
Peggy Megrdichian from Santa Ana made a truly amazing impression with the customer, successfully sending the message across that at Rebel, we're sincerely interested in our customers' personal well-being and not only the bottom line. She did such a great job that the customer vows that anytime he thinks of rentals, he will make a straight line to Rebel Rents.
Excellent work, Peggy!! Way to show your Rebel PRIDE!!!
Risk Is Under Control
In January of 2008, Rebel received a visit from an American Alliance Risk Management Consultant, on behalf of AIG, Rebel's workers' compensation insurance carrier. The visit is an annual ritual, to perform loss control survey; obtaining information regarding the scope of Rebel operations, review and discuss workers' compensation loss exposures and controls, and review the safety and training programs in place to reduce risk factors on the job.
Because Rebel maintains a perpetual updating of its safety training and program implementations, the survey went well with only a few minor recommendations. Doug Fleury, the Risk Manager, is instrumental in putting all these programs in place. The consultant was impressed by the innovative programs Rebel was implementing in creating safety awareness within its organization, as well as its valued customers. He also noted that Rebel is OSHA compliant.
Here's to another successful inspection! At Rebel, we make sure we are always doing everything necessary to keep our most valuable assets safe: our team members. Congratulations on a job well done.
