Rebel Rents Fleet Improvement Program

Rebel continues to grow in size, and with it, the increase in demand for the company's transportation needs. To meet these demands, Rebel has implemented an ongoing transportation fleet improvement program and purpose-built vehicles. This program encompasses acquiring new and varied vehicles that offer more than just standard options, and retiring older vehicles with high mileage, avoiding future maintenance costs while staying safety-conscious. Most of the fleet come with power lift gates, all with back window roll bars (head ache rack), additional equipment tie down points, and custom-built truck beds. These options were included with the safety and driver comfort in mind, as well as efficiency and functionality. Driving these new vehicles has the added benefit of displaying the professional image and employee pride that all our Team Members possess.

Rebel Gets a Comfortable Ride

Rebel Rents recently acquired a 2007 Ford Escape to become the new company vehicle for its corporate support staff. As the new year approaches, plans of more land travel becomes apparent. Corporate staff will be looking forward to run errands, and visit stores with this new vehicle. It rides very comfortably, and it doesn't dwarf drivers behind the wheel like the F250 Extended Cab Diesel Trucks that they used previously. It is a mini-SUV, a more maneuverable vehicle for most of the corporate staff.

Celebrating the Holidays

Rebel Rents' support staff was treated to a scrumptious lunch at the Thornton Winery Restaurant in Temecula today. In celebration of the holidays, and to celebrate the 2006 year-end, everyone from the different departments briefly left their hectic workload to join in the festivities. In attendance were: Judy Dennis, Brett Guigneaux, Sharon Desuacido, Susie Slavey, Sue Hope, Cheryl Peck, Debbie Sanchez, Pam Jeffers, Jill Widfeldt, Linda Benson, Greg Burman, John Benson, George Aguilar, Joe Vullo, Ben Butler, Mayette Geller, and Doug Fleury. Rick Clauss also joined the celebration, along with his lovely wife, Mary. Before the meal was served, Rick took center stage and thanked each staff individually, enumerating the ways in which their performances helped Rebel overcome many challenges. The speech was heartfelt and one could feel their spirits lift once Rick's touched upon their accomplishments. He also made mention, however briefly, the goals for the upcoming year. At the end of the meal, presents were distributed to each by Judy and Cheryl; the same two responsible for putting this gathering together, and a wonderful job they did, too.

It was a very filling event, in more ways than one. We thank everyone for joining us, and thank Rick for the generous words. We are all looking forward to the coming years, with each new year getting better than the last.

Golf: Team Rebel Style!

On Friday, December 8th, some of Rebel's team members, along with a few guests, went out for a day of golf at the Temecula Creek Golf Club. It was a perfect day for the outing; the sun was out and the temperature stayed in the mid 70's. The winning team with a seven under was Matt Megrdichian, George McNulty, John Strom and Joe Negrette. Closest to the pin honors (4) went to the following players: Joe Negrette, George McNulty, Matt Megrdichian, and John Strom, who also took the honors for the longest drive. All received great prizes for their winning effort and, of course, bragging rights.

It was a day of outdoor fun. No matter how they performed during the day, everyone had a great time. It was agreed that it shall be done again next year. At the end of the day, they gathered at the Temecula Creek Inn and reminisced all that's transpired in their day. And what a day it was!

A special thanks to Peggy Megrdichian, the Rebel Team Member who help put together the event for everyone to enjoy.

On the Road Again

Rebel just received its latest addition to its fleet of big rigs: the Freightliner Columbia with a Trail-Eze heavy duty hydraulic tail trailer. The Columbia model's day cab has a 112" wheelbase, perfect to deliver in urban environments. Some of the features include:
  • aerodynamic design that offers better-handling and improved fuel economy
  • expansive windshield and low, sloped hood for greater visibility
  • thermal insulated cab blocking excessive road noise
  • 3-piece design bumper allowing individual section replacement, minimizing repair costs
This new vehicle was certainly designed with productivity in mind, with exceptional ride for the driver's comfort to boot.

Of course, the cab isn't complete without its trailer.

The trailers are custom-made just for Rebel by Trail-Eze. These units are generally 48' long, but with today's jobsites varying in size, we made these trailers only 38' long - 10' feet shorter. Designed to get into more confined spaces, their weight capacity is the same as the longer ones. With the convenience of having the hydraulic tail, these units are designed by the customer to work for the customer.

As the business grows, so does our transportation needs.

New Fleet & Vendor Partnership Announcement

There's excitement in the air as Rebel announces the arrival of its new fleet of compressors. Rebel Rents is replacing its old inventory of compressors with 2004's RER winner of the Innovative Product Award in the Compressor/Air Tool category; the new Kaeser M57 Mobilair Compressor. Kaeser is a new vendor partner for Rebel and a welcome addition to our highly respected suppliers of high quality rental equipment and products. The compressor boasts the largest fuel tank in its class, the M57 is the longest running portable compressor available. This 45 hp unit delivers 210 cfm at 100 psig. While other competitors offer up to 49 hp class compressor, they still only produce a 160 cfm of air. The Kaeser M57 units produces 31% more volume of air than the competition, at a quieter, more fuel-effective manner. There really is no competition!

The power-saving Sigma Profile direct drive airend, combined with an oversized fuel tank, provides 10 hours of uninterrupted operation. The heavy-duty 4-cylinder diesel engine with cold-start battery ensures reliable operation even in severe conditions. The solid steel floor and panel insulation greatly reduces noise levels. The powder-coated enclosure with gull wing doors provides easy access to all service points and the large toolbox. The torsion bar suspension system and oversized tires provide excellent road handling.

Whether it's civil and commercial construction, demolition, or sand blasting, the M57 will provide our customers all the rugged durability and heavy-duty performance on any application. We're sure our customers will agree.
