Next month, Environmental Protection Magazine will be publishing an article about Rebel Pump & Pipe and the dust control management project they are involved in in Lake Elsinore. The following is a preview of that article:Thompson Pump and Rebel Pump & Pipe Manage Dust Control for Residential Development in Lake Elsinore, CA
A California contractor won the bid to develop a 300+ residential development on a hillside north of Lake Elsinore, Southern California's largest natural lake. Before construction could begin, the contractor needed to create a 1.3 million-gallon reservoir at the top of a 450 ft. elevated peak to maintain dust control and ground compaction during the grading process.
Rebel Pump & Pipe, a distributor of Thompson Pump, supplied a turn-key package including design, pumping equipment, piping, a portable power generator, auxiliary fuel bulk storage, on-site fueling capability, and installation. Their team also provided 24-hour maintenance service to alleviate any jobsite problems.
To complete this project, the Rebel Pump & Pipe team integrated a system to pump water from the reservoir into two 10,000-gallon water towers used to rapidly fill 4,000-gallon water trucks. The system utilized two pumps, a generator and approximately 4,600 feet of Victaulic pipe. They chose a 50hp electric motor-driven pump supplied with a quiet pack to provide reduced noise for the residential community located at the base of the hill.
Approximately two-thirds of the way up the hill, a diesel-driven 6" jet pump was used to propel water the remaining 1,500 ft. to the jobsite reservoir where there was another 200 ft. of elevation change. Overall, the water traveled a total elevation of 450 ft. incorporating over 4,600 feet of 8" Victaulic pipe along with various pipe fittings, assorted valves and control measures.
Many challenges were overcome including working with the steep elevation, loose hillside conditions, a canal crossing and the overall distance. The pumps ran efficiently 24-hours a day, seven days a week, allowing the project to be completed on schedule.

Extraordinary Accomplishments - Jerry Magstadt
This letter was sent to Jerry Magstadt, a Class A driver out of our San Jacinto location:Dear Jerry,
I was just informed that while driving you noticed a Bobcat that had recently gone missing from us on the road next to you. I was told that you followed the customer and called the police. As a result of your actions, we were able to recover the missing equipment.
I would like to extend to you my sincere gratitude. Your alertness, quick thinking, and commitment has saved the company from the potential loss and replacement of this costly piece of equipment. You went above and beyond the call of duty, and I want you to know that your efforts are not only recognized, but greatly appreciated.
Enclosed, please find a small token of my gratitude. It is through the hard work and dedication fo employees like yourself that Rebel Rents will thrive and prosper.
Sincerely,
Rick Clauss
CEO
Rebel Rents
Thank you once again to Jerry. In addition, your name will appear on the Rebel Rents Hall of Fame plaque at the Corporate office for all to see. We should all stay aware at all times - you never know what you may come across!

Reintroducing Digger
You've probably noticed him popping up everywhere - on equipment flyers, contest announcements, yellow page advertisements and even employee business cards. Who is he? For those of you who may not be aware, "he" is Digger, the official mascot of Rebel Rents. Digger and his trusty backhoe are becoming fixtures on all of our advertising. Our goal is to make Digger synonomous with Rebel Rents, much like Tony the Tiger or Ronald McDonald. Everyone knows who they are and what product or company they are associated with. We want everyone to be able to look at Digger and immediately think of Rebel Rents! If you have any suggestions regarding Digger or would like to have Digger put on your business cards, please give the office a call or leave a comment on this blog!
