Managers' Meeting
Last Wednesday, the first Managers' Meeting for 2008 was held in our El Cajon store. The meeting was attended by Rick Clauss, Doug Fleury, Marketing/Fleet/Risk Manager; Jill Widtfeldt, Human Resources; Brett Guigneaux, IT/Accounting Manager. Also in attendance were the individual Team Leaders from the different stores: Harry Coffman from San Jacinto, Jose Chavez from Encinitas and Escondido, Jim Hamilton from Temecula, and of course, Mike Brown from El Cajon. Scott Miller from Mira Loma and Chris Dalsimer from Santa Ana could not attend due to previous engagements.The meeting commenced around 10 am, with Jill going over her materials first, followed by Rick Clauss. The Team Leaders in attendance each got a turn to explain their "shared goals." The shared goals is an idea that was introduced during the annual roll out meeting. It allows for all the stores to think of how their team members will approach each goal and make it a success. It affords them to create their own strategy and planning, therefore ownership and accountability for the results.
The outcome of the meeting was quite positive. The Team Leaders became involved and actively discussed their strategies, sharing their thoughts and ideas along the way. This portion of the meeting grew intense that it absorbed much of the time. The rest of the topics that were slated to be covered had to be postponed for a later time or the next meeting.
Many of the ideas discussed have already been put to action. Many concerns are being looked into. In other words, this first Managers' Meeting have already began to yield results.
